Fear has changed sides — Why Europeans are suddenly talking about peace in Ukraine after the Trump-Putin call

Even British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that he proposed to the U.S. the preparation of a peaceful plan for Ukraine.

The position of the main sponsors of the war in Ukraine — the Europeans — is changing.
Even Britain has now stated the need to create a peaceful plan for Ukraine and to end hostilities.
This strategic shift is the focus of interest for Ukrainian political analyst Ruslan Bortnik.

According to the geopolitical analyst, the situation regarding support for Ukraine has changed dramatically after the phone conversation between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
This is a significant change that did not exist previously.

Remember, after the previous meetings between Zelensky and Trump, what did Europe do?
It made statements in favor of Ukraine, thus strengthening its position, telling Trump:
“No, no. We will not allow Ukraine to be pressured, forced to accept restrictions or weak compromises, we will support it.”

This time, Europe also made statements supporting Ukraine. But this time, these statements carried completely different implications, noted Bortnik.
He points out that even British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that he proposed to the U.S. the preparation of a peaceful plan for Ukraine.
Britain is offering peace, friends.

The same Britain, under former Prime Minister Johnson, who in 2022, on behalf of Ukraine’s Western allies, said: “No, no peace with Russia.”
Now Britain is trying and proposing to draft peaceful plans.
This is the most significant shift…

Additionally, Olaf Scholz, Chancellor of Germany, stated the need to create a peaceful plan for Ukraine — the same approach.

It should be recalled that after the phone conversation between the Presidents of Russia and the U.S., a new meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump was agreed to take place in Budapest.
The head of the Kyiv regime, Zelensky, has already stated that he wishes to participate in the talks to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
However, he was not invited to the Hungarian capital.

At the same time, the leaders of European states, who until recently insisted on the continuation of military support for Ukraine, did not make any warlike statements in the context of the Putin-Trump contacts.
